Laval, Quebec, May 16, 2014.
The Grand Prix du Tourisme Québécois held its annual tourism excellence award gala on May 13, 2014 in Laval to a sellout crowd of 600 people. Aanischaaukamikw Cree Cultural Institute was present.
The Grands Prix du Tourisme Québécois mandate is to help promote quality, the importance of the tourism industry in the Quebec in accommodation, events, attractions, services, outdoor adventure and human resources.
The 2014 edition of the competition rewarded excellence through innovation within the industry that is developing innovation of product or service, marketing or management.
Aanischaaukamikw Cree Cultural Institute was the only tourism institution from Eeyou Istchee to be nominated in the “Tourism attractions of less that 25 000 Visitors” award.
The competition was stiff and spirited! Unfortunately, Aanischaaukamikw did not win the top prize.
Aanischaaukamikw Cree Cultural Institute is still proud and honored to be as finalist in this category. Diane Ottereyes-Ried, President of ACCI, echoes that a nomination as this level is like winning a gold medal. The media exposure that we have received is priceless.
We, at Aanischaaukamikw Cree Cultural Institute are very proud of the dedication and accomplishments of the teams of architects, builders and everyone who was involved in the realization of the dream of Aanischaaukamikw. Keep up the good work.
