Introduction to Traditional POW-WOW Dancing and Outfit Making

We invite you to join the introduction to Traditional Pow-Wow dancing and outfit making to be held at Aanischaaukamikw Cree Cultural Institute Ouje-Bougoumou.

The goals and objectives are to promote togetherness, relationships, teamwork, culture revival, and basically teach visitors how to sew. Participates will leard how to make briant displays of traditional and contemporary Pow-Wow outfits.

All material will be provided and participates will be able to keep what they make.

Special guests and instructors  are Gabriel Whiteduck from Maniwaki and Paul Menarick from Chisasibi.

Schedule: May 20 – 23, 2014    3:30 pm to 7:00 pm

Open to all children ages 6 -12 (All children must be accompanied with a parent or guardian.

May 26 – 30, 2014    3:30 pm to 7:00 pm

Open to all youth and adults (12+ yrs)

Price:   FREE

Aanischaaukamikw Cree Cultural Institute New Promotion Announcement:  Chantal Mianscum, Director of Finance and Administration

April 7, 2014.

Aanischaaukamikw Cree Cultural Institute is pleased to announce the recent promotion of Chantal Mianscum as our Director of Finance and Administration based in Ouje-Bougoumou, Quebec.

Chantal will be taking over the duties and responsibilities effective April 1, 2014.  She brings an extensive work experience in finance with Aanischaaukamikw and other organizations in the Cree milieu.

We want to congratulate Chantal on her promotion at Aanischaaukamikw.  Chantal, you have done an excellent job here, and recognition of this kind is well deserved.

We welcome her enthusiasm and her dedication to the Aanischaaukamikw team.

Tourism Award

Lebel-sur-Quévillon, Quebec, March 18, 2014.

Last night, Eeyou Istchee Tourism and Tourisme Baie James handed out it’s Regional Grands Prix du Tourisme Québécois 2014 at a prestigious ceremony held in Lebel-sur-Quévillon.
With multiple winners from Eeyou Istche and in the Jamesiens regions, It was indeed a exciting evening.

Aanischaaukamikw Cree Cultural Institute (ACCI) is pleased to announce that it has received an award in the “Tourism attractions of less that 25 000 Visitors” Gold Award.

Aanischaaukamikw Cree Cultural Institute is proud and honored to receive this award. Diane Ottereyes-Ried, President of ACCI, echoes that tribute to the ACCI team, “My sincerest congratulations! The whole team deserve it! It is news that I will be so honored to tell the Elders of the Cree Nation, Mista-meegwetch!”
